BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years experience supporting large scale systems and databases
- Good working knowledge of UNIX
- Strong SQL coding and tuning experience
- Good problem diagnosis skills
- Experience troubleshooting application and system performance and complex, production software issues
- Experience executing and interpreting results from database performance benchmarks.
- Ability to lead projects and drive them to completion
- Ability to influence product road map based on customer pain points and requirements.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and agile development environment
- Possess excellent communication skills and experience working with external customers (both technical and non-technical audiences).
- Bachelors in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced SQL coding, tuning and query optimization
- Knowledge of database internals as it relates to query and system performance and tuning
- Understanding of overall system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance in a database environment
- Experience designing and leading database performance benchmarks.
- Hands-on experience in scripting test-automation and execution framework
- Experience in diagnosing and trouble-shooting complex, production software
- Hands-on experience in testing open source databases (MySQL, Postgres)
- Ability to drive tasks to completion and take ownership of projects
- Ability to work in a fast paced and agile development environment
- Possess excellent communication, sharp analytical abilities, and proven design skills
- Experience in testing commercial databases (Oracle, MS SQL, DB2) is a plus
- Experience in operating large scale, highly available distributed systems is a plus
