This role focuses on our Mobile application, which allows students to access the power of Blackboard’s solutions anytime, anywhere. You’ll help with building this student-specific mobile app that gives learners the information they want, the connections they crave, and the personalization they demand, on the go.

As a Software Engineer in Test, you will create and maintain automation frameworks and testing tools. You will develop the test strategy for features, incorporating the right balance of unit tests, integration/API tests, and UI tests. You will design, implement, and maintain complex testing environments, performing all aspects of verification including functional, regression, load, and system testing as well as documentation. You will work in a Scrum team focused on building functionality for Blackboard’s mobile applications.
The Candidate
- Has light experience in QA automation
- Has light experience developing test automation scripts for web applications
- Has light experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as Webdriver and TestNG
- Is familiar with Java, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Has a technical understanding of database configuration and can write complex SQL queries
- Has light experience with one or more scripting languages like shell or bash
- Has light experience with REST APIs, Javascript, XML, JSON
- Is familiar with build environments like Jenkins, Docker and Mesos
