- Passion for understanding business problems and trying to address them by leveraging data – characterized by high-volume, high dimensionality from multiple sources
- Experience with statistical modeling, machine learning, deep learning, optimization and other DS techniques
- Experience using R, Python or equivalent statistical/data analysis tools
- Hands-on with data structures, algorithms, OOPS/Functional programming
- Proficient with matrices, distributions, calculus and probability
- Proficiency with relational databases or NoSQL
- Experience in at least one of these: Natural language processing/computer vision/speech recognition/chatbot
- Exposure with Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive etc. is a plus
- Ability to communicate complex models and analysis in a clear and precise manner
- Experience in consulting skills – negotiation, influencing and collaboration
