Requirements to Develop your Android App

  • SDK (Software Development Kit),
  • An IDE (Integrated Development Environment) like Android Studio or Eclipse, the Java Software Development Kit (JDK) and
  • Virtual device to test on.

Android SDK Packages

In Android SDK Manager, select the following items and then click Install packages:

  • Android API (currently recommended: API 19)
  • Extras/Google Repository
  • Extras/Android Support Repository
