Roles and Responsibilities
- Provides leadership and technical testing expertise and services to project teams working on the development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of Information Services solutions and designs.
- Provides technical leadership to SDC associate test engineers and contractors when appropriate on the implementation of good test practices and software quality assurance principals.
- Implements test plans and strategies for solutions developed in-house (including functionality, integrity and stress testing; test matrices; and definition of test methodologies).
- Ensure that testing approaches and tools are appropriate based on the combination of cloud-based and in-house platforms and software development.
- Responsible for the development and execution of manual and automated test cases and scripts.
- Responsible for managing the test data corresponding to the testing approach applied.
- Assist in defining the AstraZeneca’s testing methodologies and quality control standards.
- Create and execute upgrade test plans.
- Troubleshoot defects and manage defect tracking and resolution processes so that a consistent, documented process is used and followed.
- Fully document any unexpected anomalies or defects identified in testing with the instruction of how to recreate each.
- Maintain well-organized records of test results and generate a historical analysis of test results.
- Ensure that defects and requirement variances are being appropriately communicated to development for correction.
- Work with technical resources to discuss and troubleshoot issues.
- Manage and execute testing approaches including System, Functional, Integration, Regression and Performance testing.
- Perform effective version control management in all aspects of documentation/script output.
- Liaise with analysts, developers and business domain experts to better understand requirements and produce effective test scripts and concept of software features.
Mandatory Skills:
- Degree level education in computer science or similar
- Prior testing experience in an Information Services/Information Technology environment with good business acumen
- Experience of working within a quality and compliance environment and application of policies, procedures, and guidelines
- A good understanding of the software development process
- Good writing skills (for documenting the process)
- Good communications and consultancy skills
- Ability to interpret and communicate technical information into business language
- Working knowledge of GxP and Validation principles
