ADM also enables you to lock the device so that nobody will be able to see your data, and if you suspect it may have actually been stolen instead then you can remotely initiate a factory reset—wiping all your information and accounts so they are completely protected.

How to track my lost or stolen Android phone ?

Is one of the questions that 80% of the android users have in their mind around the world. Google Android Operating system is the most used OS in phones around the world. It covers more than 80% of the market. There are thousands of people who lose their mobile everyday and few more thousands people whose mobiles get stolen. Android mobile can be tracked using apps and without apps as well. The best way is to simply ask Google when you are signed in “Where is my phone” or “Find my phone”.

If your Android phone is linked to Google, you can find it by searching for “where is my phone” on Google.com.

Step 1 : Sign in to Google Account

Log in to your Google account through the computer the same one was used to sign in Android Device Manager app on the lost Android device

Once signed in successfully, you will see a pop-up as below.

Step 2 : Locate lost Android Device

Click the button at the upper right corner. Android Device Manager will try to contact your Lost Android phone. Please wait patiently.

Step 3 : Ring/Erase/Lock Your Lost Device

Location – The location of your Android device will appear automatically on the map, along with the name of the place, when it was last used and located to check out the location.

Ring – you can choose to ring your device from Android Device Manager. The phone will ring for five minutes at maximum volume, even if it’s set on silent or vibrate.

Erase – if your device has been stolen, or you don’t want to risk your data you can click the Erase button. This will completely wipe the phone by performing a factory reset is permanent. If your device is offline, we will perform the factory reset as soon as it goes online.

Lock Your Lost Device – If the device isn’t nearby but you think you may be able to recover it you can click the Lock button. The current lock screen will be replaced with a password lock. You can add a message asking the person who finds the device to contact you.Once the command is sent to your device, it will lock it immediately, even if it’s being used.

You do not have to install any app to track your device, but there are a few requirements:

  • Google Account linked to your Android Device.
  • Your device has access to the internet,Nothing can be done if there is no internet.
  • You haven’t changed your Google Setting to disallow Android Device Manager to locate your device. The default is Allowed.
  • You can perform 3 actions from this website : Ring , lock your phone remotely and erase its data. ( Lock and erase must be allowed for Android Device Manager via Google app settings. It’s turned off by default. )
  • A theft hasn’t reset your smartphone to factory default.
